I'm not one to ask others for help but I'm looking for help for my husband and I to dig out of debt that has accumulated significantly since his workplace accident in April 2020. He was laid up for a year recovering from a broken pelvis and other injuries after a trench collapse. He was told he couldn't sue because he signed a paper while in the hospital on heavy drugs, which he don't remember signing or even have a copy of for proof. And he didn't fight it which I think he should have. WSIB was not enough income, I had 2 part time jobs but still came up short often. This lead us into having to borrow money via loans, line of credit and credit cards family and friends which has us close to $75 K in debt. He eventually was slowly able to return to work but never 100% due to limitations from his injuries. I went to school to get my AZ (CDL) license. We got back on track and were able to manage all these payments for the most part but now I have been off work for medical reasons almost a year now. My EI ran out in august and CPP disability has denied me. So we have had only his income since August. As of December 3rd I was told im staying off work until February now. So he's working hard to keep us going but we're struggling to keep up and falling behind on everything. With christmas around the corner we have told our kids we will likely have to do christmas in January as we can't afford anything right now trying to catch up on bills. They are all great kids and have all helped us through many rough times. I have seen how great communities can come together to help each other so thought of trying this before looking into worst case scenario of filing bankruptcy. My husband has always been a hard working man and the financial stress is taking a toll on him. We always try to help others any time we can. And once we get back on our feet will continue to help others. We appreciate any support. Jen and Charlie ❤️
