Helping April's Heart Heal

After a few years of relentless stress and underlying heart disease, April suffered 2 heart attacks on the night of February 24. By the grace of God, her girlfriend Jamie, a paramedic, was with her and took swift action knowing the signs.

Just arriving home after 9 days in the hospital, her sisters are mobilizing to support (with 2 fabulous sisters already on the ground) and we’re asking for any help with meals or $$/gift cards for meals as many of us are far away, including me. April is going to be on strict bed rest for 2 weeks and wearing an AED (life vest) for at least 30 days.

These coming days are meant for rest, love, and time with her kids and Jamie. For those of you that don’t know Jamie, she is April’s love and truly her guardian angel. If not for Jamie, April probably would not have survived this and would have been home alone with the kids. Jamie is an angel in her own right working for Lee County EMS throughout the pandemic and Hurricane Ian. I want her to be able to rest too.
