Hi friends.

I’m raising funds for an incredibly down on her luck mum and her 3 kids. Mum and her kids have various medical needs.

They live in a house that the Ministry of Housing should hang their head in shame. There’s damp, mould, sewage smells due to faulty waste pipes. I’m going to write an application complete with photos to try and sort this. A local builder has volunteered his hours to do a complete inspection.

6 months ago, during broad daylight (in a 100k zone) as two cars were coming towards her, a mob of kangaroos were spooked resulting sadly in the death of some kangaroos. No damage to any people. But three dingled cars.

Being on a carers pension with her 3 children, money has always been incredibly tight. Her former partner isn’t helping out monetarily. Her car wasn’t comprehensively insured. The Hyundai was sold for scrap metal.

My young courageous friend has applied for a Good Shepherd interest free loan. They will only lend $5000 for a car.

I think that a $5000 car will only lead to more expensive repair work being needed. That’s money she doesn’t have.

I need 240 of you to donate $50.

At the moment I have had her name added to my insurance so that mum and the kids can go to appointments, family court and just have a day out to enjoy away from Nathalia where nothing happens on the weekend unless you’re into sport.

I always let her know which days I need my car and vice versa. My car always comes back in good nick and vacuumed.

But, there’s times when we all need my car.

Where we live there is a bus to the Shepparton station. The buses are difficult for doing appointments, but excellent if all you want to do is get the train to Melbourne.

When the kids have their fortnightly appointment in Shepp on a Saturday, they need to get the 6:00 AM bus and then they have a 10 hour wait to get the bus home.

The roads around Nathalia are pretty rough. A car with bigger wheels is needed, but NOT a 4WD. I have a Holden VF and a friend has a Toyota Camry the same age. Both are big enough to handle our conditions.

Not having comprehensive insurance has meant that this young family is on the slippery slide, or is that slope?
