Hi friends and neighbors,

In the spirit of the Lafayette's "Be Kind challenge" right now, I was hoping to get
your help with something...

I've recently come to know a single mama named Marie with three kiddos under 5, (one is autistic). Marie works in nursing and about a month ago, the home she was renting was foreclosed on, forcing her and her three kids on the street. She has no family here in the Bay area.

She's got a small bit of cash saved (not enough for first, last and a deposit on an apartment, however) so she's working diligently to obtain some sort of camper or RV or anything that can provide a roof for the kids so that she can get back to work.  For the past month, they've all been staying in her car at the Oakland harbor which is just terrifying.

Despite being in this horrible situation, Marie has managed to stay positive and is doing all she can to find a way out of this on her own before time runs out. Her job is being held for her for about another week so the good news is, she has the ability to earn income--she just needs a roof over their heads so the kids can be babysat and she can get them back to normal to a degree.  She's truly between a rock and a hard place right now.

She is very prideful and was hesitant to let me put together a fundraiser with photos of her and the kids so this was the best I could do to try to generate some funds that could assist her.  She believes I'm out there trying to ascertain a camper (which I am) yet I believe raising some money is likely the fastest way to help. 

Thank you for anything you can do.  As I got into my cozy bed last night, all I could think of was her and these kids stuck and scared in their car/bed.  I just want to give them a boost so she can pull out of this.
