Hello All,
We have all at some point thought about the socioeconomic impact of COVID-19 on our pregnant patients, especially those with limited resources. On a quiet day on L&D, several of us floated ideas about how we could help those in most need of our help during this crisis. Subsequently, we reached out to Casey Clinic and Neighborhood Health to see in what manner we could give back to our local community and assess what their greatest needs were.
They informed us that the Alexandria Department of Health typically provides FREE car seats to those moms who would otherwise struggle to afford them. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have not been able to provide this service. There is a need for ~90 car seats (which cost $60 each).
This is where we can step in and show our support. Our goal is to raise $5000. Please donate a car seat to a local mother in need. Any amount will go a long way. Thank you for your willingness to help and please feel free to share this fundraiser with others!
