My name is Rachel Blackburn, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my family to support my cousin, Crystal Turner, a devoted grandmother now raising her grandchildren after an unimaginable loss. This campaign exists to help provide stability, care, and support during a critical season of healing.

Following the events shared on American Monster, my cousin Jenea Harvison lost her life to domestic violence, and her brother Donell McDonald was also murdered. In a single act of violence, children lost their parents, and an entire family was forever changed.

Today, those children, now 15 and 12 years old, are being raised by their grandmother. Their mother did leave them an inheritance, but by law, those funds are inaccessible until they turn 18. In the meantime, their grandmother has done what grandmothers do best—she stepped in without hesitation. She has used the remaining available resources to provide stability, housing, food, clothing, schooling, and emotional support during an incredibly traumatic time. Those funds have now been exhausted.

Raising two growing children comes with real, ongoing expenses:

• Transportation and medical expenses

This GoFundMe is being launched to help bridge the gap until the children can legally access the inheritance their mother intended for them.
