We are reaching out in hope to assist one of our families facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain journey. Their young son has been battling Drug Resistant Epilepsy for the past 3 years, experiencing frequent seizures that do not respond to medication, and the family is still searching for answers.

Despite numerous appointments, tests, and clinical trials with experimental drugs a clear cause of the seizures is yet to be pin pointed and the long-term treatment plan requires ongoing video monitoring which entails in patient hospital stays for weeks at a time and these are likely to become more invasive. As you can imagine, this has been emotionally, physically, and financially overwhelming.

To ensure their son receives the care he needs, both parents have paused their careers to be able to support the ongoing care needs. This includes attending specialist appointments, coordinating care, and picking him up early from school when seizures occur or worse still racing to the Emergency Department.

This family has shown tremendous strength and love, but the ongoing medical expenses, and the loss of income and the daily grind has been a struggle to navigate.
