I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin and their family after an unimaginable and traumatic event.

They were forced to flee their apartment after a firearm was discharged from a neighboring unit, sending a bullet through the wall and into their bedroom. Believing they were finally safe, they left the apartment—only to later learn that the armed suspect had entered their home through the attic, barricaded himself inside, and became involved in a multi-agency armed standoff involving SWAT. The incident ended with the suspect taking his own life inside their bedroom.

Their home is now an active crime scene and has been rendered completely uninhabitable. They cannot return to their apartment or their belongings and are experiencing severe emotional trauma, fear, and displacement.

This fundraiser is to help with immediate and essential needs, including:

• Emergency housing and relocation costs

• Clothing and daily necessities

• Counseling and trauma support

• Lost wages and unexpected expenses related to displacement

They are not able to speak publicly at this time, and their family is handling matters on their behalf so they can focus on safety and healing.
