My mother-in-law is the kind of person who quietly holds everything together. She’s a devoted grandmother, always there with love, time, and support whenever her family needs her. Whether it’s helping with the grandchildren, offering a listening ear, or simply showing up when it matters most—she gives so much of herself without ever expecting anything in return.

Lately, life has become a little heavier for her and her husband. After an accident, he’s been unable to work, and like many families, they’ve been doing their best to manage without asking for help.

Then recently, her car failed its MOT. The garage confirmed what we were all worried about—that it’s simply too old and not worth repairing.

For her, this isn’t just about a car.

It’s about being able to see her grandchildren, to continue being present in their lives in the way she always has been. It’s about getting to important healthcare appointments for both herself and her husband. It’s about maintaining a sense of independence and staying connected to the people she loves most.

She would never ask for this herself. In fact, she’d probably be uncomfortable even knowing I’ve written this. But sometimes the people who give the most are the ones who need a little help in return.

We’re hoping to raise enough to help her get a safe, reliable car—nothing fancy, just something that allows her to keep doing what she does best: caring for her family.
