I’m reaching out on behalf of a courageous mother who recently escaped a dangerous domestic violence situation with her two youngest children — a toddler and a preteen. For legal and safety reasons, their identities will remain anonymous, but their story is very real, and their need is urgent.
Just last week, the abuser was arrested and remains in jail. This mother took a brave step toward freedom, packing her life into a U-Haul trailer — clothing for herself and the kids, toys, hygiene items, mattresses, a couch, important documents, and meaningful keepsakes. Among the items were photo albums filled with memories of all four of her children and irreplaceable photos of her late mother.
They were temporarily staying in a hotel, waiting for a spot to open at a local women’s shelter. Tragically, during the night, someone stole the entire U-Haul trailer right off the back of her vehicle. Everything she had left, everything she fought to save, was taken in an instant.
A police report has been filed, but at this point, she and her two youngest children are starting over with absolutely nothing.
And yet, even in the midst of loss, we believe God is good. He brings people together in moments like this to show His love through action, compassion, and support.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:3–4
Right now, we have the chance to be that comfort, to lift this mother and her children as they rebuild their lives from the ground up.
Your prayers mean everything. And if you’re able, any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward essentials like food, clothing, shelter, and helping this family begin again with dignity and hope.
Thank you for taking the time to read, share, pray, and give. Every gesture, every dollar, and every kind word makes a real difference.
