I never imagined I would be writing something like this.
On Monday, 15th December, my beautiful best friend Rachel suffered a stroke. Our lives were instantly turned upside down, and right now we don’t know what the future holds. What we do know is that Rachel faces a long and challenging road to recovery.
Rachel and her family are truly one of the kindest, most hardworking families I know. They are the sort of people who would help anyone without hesitation, never asking for anything in return. Rachel is an incredible wife and mother to four beautiful children, and she has an amazing husband, Ben, who is doing everything he can to hold their world together.
Rachel is a fighter—strong, determined, and stubborn in the best possible way—but as we all know, strokes can affect everyone differently and for varying lengths of time. Her recovery will take patience, care, and unwavering support.
Unfortunately, like so many families, they do not have critical health insurance. This means the financial burden will fall solely on Ben at a time when his priority should be being there for Rachel and their children, not worrying about finances.
With Christmas just around the corner, this has made an already devastating situation even harder. We are setting up this GoFundMe to help ease some of that pressure. Every single pound makes a difference—when it’s all put together, even £1 goes a long way.
Your support will help cover everyday living expenses, medical and rehabilitation costs (if needed), and allow Ben the space to focus on what truly matters: his family.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to them. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
