Our amazing Nursing colleague, inspirational Mum and dear Friend,
Felicity Joyce, along with her Husband, Tony Salmon, have had the most horrific 12 months of their lives.
Flick and Tony had two beautiful babies born through IVF.
A year later they were blessed and surprised everyone as much as themselves with a naturally conceived pregnancy.
It was a very difficult pregnancy and Flick was forced to give up work early.
Hadley Laura Salmon was born on 8th January 2018.
“Haddie” has been battling major respiratory and lung issues since birth which has seen this beautiful family making emergency dashes to hospital with a baby in critical condition. Haddie been hospitalised already 8 times in 11 weeks.
On Monday night they experienced something that no parent should ever have to do - they had to resuscitate their own baby, she crashed again on reaching hospital, revived again and then placed on a respirator.
A retrieval team was sent from the Lady Cilento where she was admitted into intensive care.
She will be undergoing a surgical procedure on Friday to help diagnose her situation.
Haddie is on 24/7 day a week on oxygen, even when she gets to come home from hospital, so returning to work will be extremely difficult for Felicity.
Over this period of time sadly, Tony also lost his beloved Mum, and Felicity also had to have surgery so emotionally and physically this couple have been stretched beyond belief. With all the medical bills, already incurred and more yet to come and with both of them out of paid leave from work they are becoming financially crippled. They have an amazing supportive family who have been caring for their other 2 children, both aged under 4 so Felicity and Tony can be at the hospital with Haddie.
After much debate they have now decided to accept our offer to set up a Go Fund Me Page, and we are now asking their work colleagues, friends, family to help support them in covering the medical costs and associated costs of having such a sick baby. If you can support this family in any way I know that it would be very gratefully received.
