Help Dlana and her Girls

Hi, my name is Dlana, and I’m a 30-year-old single mother doing my best to rebuild my life for my two beautiful girls — Karen (8) and Freya (3 months).

I never imagined writing something like this, but after months of struggling — and with encouragement from a kind friend — I’m asking for help from people with generous hearts.

Our Story

Life hasn’t been easy.
Years ago, I had to give up my firstborn son for adoption when I was homeless. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but it taught me strength and faith.

Eight years ago, I gave birth to Karen while living with my mother. She’s full of joy and light — but she’s growing up without a consistent father figure.

Then this summer, my second daughter Freya arrived — a month early. I had no crib, no bottles, no diapers.

That’s when I met Mr. Stephen, a kind man who saw my post asking for help. He sent baby supplies, brought a bassinet from local garage sales, and became a mentor and father-figure to us.

In September, he even drove 90 miles to take us to a new church, hoping to build a support system. After the service, Karen held onto his arm during lunch — the affection she’s longed for. She even picked out cupcakes and flowers “for Mommy” afterwards when he took us grocery shopping. It melted both our hearts.

Our Current Situation

Right now, we’re technically homeless, moving between my mother’s and Freya’s grandmother’s Section 8 apartments — 90 miles apart.

Without a car, it’s nearly impossible to find stability. Karen misses school for weeks at a time and risks having to repeat the second grade.

I’m battling postpartum depression, chronic back pain, and the emotional toll of raising two kids with almost no income. We survive on $536 in food stamps and the kindness of friends like Mr. Stephen, who has spent over $1,000 helping us with food, bills, and essentials.

Why We’re Asking for Help

Our goal is to raise $15,000 — enough to rebuild stability for one year.

How the funds will help:
$3,000 – Reliable used car for doctors appointments, church, and future work
$9,000 – One year of housing support ($750 / month)
$3,000 – Utilities, car insurance, diapers, and basic living expenses

What Your Support Means

Every dollar — $5, $10, $50, or $100 — makes a real difference.
You’re not just helping a single mom; you’re giving two little girls stability, safety, and hope.

Your kindness provides:

  • A roof over our heads
  • Diapers and formula for Freya
  • School supplies for Karen
  • Transportation and peace of mind for me

❤️ A Message of Hope

Despite everything, I still believe in new beginnings.
I’ve seen kindness through strangers like Mr. Stephen and through people reading this story.

As Mr. Stephen says, “Helping someone in need makes people feel good about themselves.”

Please — if you can — donate, share, or pray for us. Every act of kindness brings us one step closer to a stable, hopeful life.

With love and gratitude,
— Dlana, Karen & baby Freya
