Help Diocese of Virac-Caritas Typhoon Relief

Last October 31st, my hometown in the Philippines, Virac, Catanduanes - coordinates: 13.5 •N 122.6•E, was hit by the strongest tropical cyclone recorded in 2020. Category 5 Super Typhoon Goni, known as Super Typhoon Rolly in the Philippines, made its first landfall on the eastern seaboard of the island province of Catanduanes packing winds of 195 mph (more than 300kph) wrecking havoc in the towns of Baras and Bato before eventually razing its way westward to Virac and San Andres towns.

The aftermath of the super typhoon left extensive and vast damage to crops and agriculture; obliterated at least 80% of homes ; and ruined power, water and telecommunication infrastructure.

The people in Catanduanes is in dire need of your help to sustain their basic needs - food and safe drinking water, clothing and shelter - especially the almost 20% living below the poverty line most vulnerable to hunger and ill health without food on the table and roof over their heads.

This is a race against time and I am earnestly asking for your help.  Your kindness and generosity will go a long way especially around this time of difficulty and global pandemic.
