Help Zuli's First Born be born at Home

My name is Zuli (Zuleima), born and raised in Oxnard Ca, (Chumash Territory) working and serving community through food (community roots garden) cycling (the Bike Hub) and birth work (AmorYLuzAlMundo.com). I have been able to offer these services due to my life path and connections to the various sacred teachers, elders, mentors, family and friends who have opened my heart space along the way. It has been a great honor to serve community and share any abundance I have with my community (whether it be through free yoga classes en espanol, birth information support and resources, to herbal remedios and volunteer work with the youth creating amazing murals).

It is difficult for me to ask for help in many ways, but I am now on the other end of things, needing support from community having been given the opportunity to bring new life into the world myself. An exciting and grateful journey I have embarked in, as I am now 21 weeks pregnant !

Having been a doula for a few years now as a support for both homebirths as well as hospital births, I have witnessed since early May that birth companions (Doulas) have since had a very difficult time being able to attend births due to the on and off restrictions that no longer allow them in the Labor Ward or in Theatre of government hospitals.

I unfortunately do not have the money to have the home birth I have always envisioned and support / advocate for folks to have or even to pay for a Doula as support during my own pregnancy. Amid COVID-19, I am expecting my first semillita to be born around ‪January 18th in hopes of being able to have a supported home birth, I will not be alone and will receive the much needed love, encouragement and support versus going the hospital route. I’d love nothing more than to bring this new little being into the world, in the sacred space of my home, and would love your support in raising money to fund a home birth with a midwife.
