Hi friends,

My name is Elena and me and my boyfriend care for a dog named Zeus. We have had some trouble doing so as of late.

I am a full time Dean's List student who is working 2 jobs and is involved in multiple community efforts at school. I am trying my best, but sometimes it isn't enough and help is needed. Our expenses with Zeus have gotten a bit out of hand with his most recent injury and we are asking for you to pray, share this page, or even donate if you are in a position to do so.

Zeus lived 7 happy, (mostly) pain free years on Gabapentin and Meloxicam before we took him to the dog park on October 13, 2022. He lifted his back leg and appeared to be in immense pain. 

By the time we got home, he was weight bearing with a visible limp. We did not have the money to perform x rays at the time and tried to rehabilitate him conservatively. We do not have pet insurance.

Since then, Zeus has declined considerably in his ability to walk properly and pain free. He drags his legs, and limps with almost every step.

After this decline, we worked hard and used the money to take him for X rays. We were sent to a specialist who told us that Zeus, most likely, has torn or ruptured a ligament in his rear left knee. He has trouble walking up stairs, jumping, and living pain free, even on pain medications. This doesn't stop him from smiling, though.

The injury Zeus sustained on his rear left knee is common for dogs like Zeus who have had TPLO performed on the other knee. Our vet told us it was inevitable years ago and it has finally happened.

The funding from this page will be used directly to:

(i) To help prepare Zeus for surgery (physio, hydrotherapy)

(ii) To pay for the cost of surgery for Zeus

(iii) To help rehabilitate Zeus from the surgery so that he can live the rest of his happy life pain-free.

Zeus is a strong dog and despite his condition, he is always smiling. He is absolutely a part of my family and if I have ever helped you in any way, shape or form and you are grateful for that then please, help me help Zeus. There is nothing in the world that matters more to me.
