Help Zee and His Dad Fight Antisemitism in Milwaukee

See our story on the newsHi, I’m Zee and along with my father, who I call Ab, are being charged with a felony for standing up against a hate crime. A number of weeks ago, a man who’s been spreading anti-Semitic rhetoric and advocating for harm to be done to the Jewish community of Milwaukee put up a mural of the Jewish star intertwined with a swastika. The language on the mural compared Jews to Nazis. The first time I saw it, men were standing in front of it and yelling at a group of yeshiva kids who had come to see it for themselves. So, my father and I did the only sensible thing and took it down.

Since then, my father and I have been charged with the felony offense for having destroyed a swastika. And so, as we enter a legal battle over whether or not that kind of provocative hate speech is tolerable in the city of Milwaukee, we ask the community to please help us with the legal expenses that will be incurred as we move forward.
