UPDATE 01/15/2026: Zaddy and his daddy finally got into one of the new tiny homes that the Sacramento County made for the homeless! So I’m not going to make an Amazon Wishlist because they can’t have too many belongings. Instead the rest of the $182 will be used for Zaddy to have enough dog food and other important supplies and for his dad to get some new clothes and anything else that both of them need more help with. I’ll be posting one last update after I get Zaddy and his daddy everything else they need before I close this fundraiser completely and I also want to give another huge thank you to everyone who was able to donate to help them! ❤️
UPDATE: As of 09/21/2025, I am closing future donations because it turns out that Zaddy and his owner are finally getting Section 8 (low income) housing within the next week or two. Please read the last update I added to this fundraiser for further information and huge thank you to everyone who got to help during this time ❤️
On 09/12/2025 which was a Friday night, I discovered a homeless man who has a brindle and white Bull Terrier named Zaddy (rhymes with daddy) in Downtown Sacramento on J Street by one of my favorite restaurants The Old Spaghetti Factory and both the homeless man and Zaddy are very sweet and Zaddy really liked me as you can see and the homeless man was also okay with me petting Zaddy and even taking pics of him.
On Wednesday 09/17/2025 around 12:30pm, I really wanted to find Zaddy and his owner with my mom so we could give them cold water bottles (we gave them 5-7 cold water bottles) and mom also got Zaddy some dog food from the Spot and Tango brand which was the beef and barley flavor and I also asked his owner if Zaddy had any food allergies but he thankfully doesn’t.
So my mom and I drove through J Street to try to find them for almost an hour but didn’t have any luck at first…
I also wanted to get Noah’s Bagels and I almost thought of going to the one near my mom’s house in Folsom but there’s actually a Noah’s Bagels across from the same Old Spaghetti Factory on J Street so I decided to have my mom take me there and I was really hoping to have 1 more chance of finding them and I did!
I was also nervous at first because Zaddy was lying on the sidewalk in the shade when I saw them and I was worried he might be sick but I gently called his name out and he immediately perked up and was so happy to see me again because it turns out he was just taking a nap and I’m also really glad that Zaddy and his owner still get help from the Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento if any emergency happens.
I also included one picture where Zaddy had to be at the Front Street Animal Shelter for 11 days from 08/20/2025-08/31/2025 when his owner was having more struggles during that time…
Zaddy’s owner also asked me how hot it was going to get that day and I told him that it was going to be 98 degrees which is why I really wanted to help them that day especially since I had to go back to my mom’s house in Folsom and I won’t be back in Midtown Sacramento until Saturday 09/20/2025 and he looked so sad like he feels like a failure…
I was really wishing that California and even every place in the world had enough resources to prevent homelessness 100%
Most people who know me know that Bull Terrier’s are my favorite dog breed especially because my Target job covers my whole tuition and textbooks and saved my life in so many other ways and I know there’s many other homeless people with different types of dogs…
So I’m hoping that everyone can start helping the homeless more by giving them important supplies and if some refuse help, there’s still many others who will be beyond grateful to have that help and support!
Recovery isn’t easy but it’s not impossible and it takes hard work and a lot of patience ❤️
So for this fundraiser, I’m hoping to help Zaddy and his owner get into Section 8 housing (low income housing) preferably in the Sacramento County or elsewhere if needed.
I set the goal for this fundraiser for $3,200 although it might actually cost a little less than that to get the homeless man and Zaddy into Section 8 housing.
Anything helps and please share this as much as you all can and if any of you live near the Sacramento area, you can try to find Zaddy and his owner (high chance they’ll be nearby the Old Spaghetti Factory on J Street like they were the last 2 times I saw them) by giving them more supplies like my mom and I did and they will appreciate it very much!
