Help Zach & Patricia become parents❤

A little about their story:

Zach and Patricia got married Sept 2014, and ever since then they have tried to build a little family of their own.  In March 2018 they received the most amazing news that they were expecting!  They couldn’t believe that it’s finally happening! At their 18 week ultrasound they received shocking news that they have found some abnormalities with their baby and needed to seek a maternal fetal medicine specialist.  They went to see him and with further ultrasounds the doctor confirmed multiple abnormalities and recommended chromosome genetic testing.  They found out that the genetic testing showed that the baby had a unbalanced chromosome translocation, which had minimal survival rate. Unfortunately, their little baby boy that they couldn’t wait to meet turned into a memory while they were 24 weeks pregnant.

Two years later Zach and Patricia are still sitting at square one.  They continue hoping and praying that one day they will get that chance to try again, but due to being a balance translocation carrier, it made them scared and worried that they may not get that chance.  After meeting with a fertility specialist doctor June 2020, they determined that IVF would be in their best interest.  With IVF they would be able to extract eggs, complete genetic/chromosome testing, and determine which ones are healthy.  That way they would have a higher chance to carry a healthy baby.  They didn’t think twice and wanted to give this a shot.

In case you didn’t know, IVF is very expensive.  Their doctor submitted a medically necessary letter to their medial insurance to get them to approve IVF, but after 3 attempts they still got denied.

They decided to start the process of IVF even though insurance denied coverage.

Going through infertility and fertility treatments can hit on every level: emotionally, physically, financially, and even spiritually.  This stressful process can also be very tough to go through, as most people don't openly discuss their experience.  With their permission and though they were hesitant, they were ok with me explaining their story.  If you know these two you know what a beautiful, loving couple they are.  They have also worked very hard to save for this procedure but expenses are nearly doubling what was expected.  I believe that in this extraordinary circumstance GoFundMe can help those with some financial relief, and thought what a better way than to start one for Zach and Patricia and to help pray and show your support for these two through this difficult, stressful, and also exciting time.

One thing they would like to do is make a puzzle board with everyone’s name on a puzzle piece that donated.  This will be hung in the baby’s room to be reminded of all the love and support they received from their family and friends.
