Help YYC teams attend robotics World Championship

Donation protected
We are three youth-run robotics organizations that recently competed at the Provincial Championship and took 5/6 of the spots for the World Championship in Dallas. We have the opportunity to represent Canada on the world stage, and now, we need your help to get there.

The price of attending the World Championship:
Travelling to the venue in Dallas, Texas, finding accommodations for 5 days, and paying for the tournament registration fee (1200 USD) makes going to the World Championship a financially stressful situation.

Your help would contribute to minimizing the following costs:
  • Tournament Registration
  • Travel
  • Lodging
  • Parts and Equipment

A little more about us:

Western Mechatronics was founded in 2019 by two high school students, Jonathan and Ian. In Alberta, less than 10 schools offer the ability to participate in the VEX Robotics competition. Driven by teamwork, a common dream, and a hunger to give back to the community, Jon and Ian created their own opportunities by starting the first student-run VEX robotics club in Canada called Western Mechatronics. Today, Western Mechatronics teams 2088Z, 2088F, and 210Y are among the top teams in the nation and have won 4/4 of the tournaments they attended in Alberta this season. This season, team 210Y ranked in the top 50 teams out of 22,000 teams in the world and qualified for the World Championship 5 times through winning international VEX Online Challenges.

NEO Robotics is an organization with students from multiple schools in Calgary on their two teams 2405Z and 2405T. They have been working hard on their robots and in their graduating year, they finally qualified for the World championship. However, NEO currently lacks the funding to make it to Dallas.

210X is a competitive robotics team from Calgary consisting of four high school students. They strive to develop innovative and exciting designs to excel in the competition games presented by VEX Robotics. After spending countless hours working to qualify for the World Championships, they finally received the opportunity to present their ideas on the world stage this upcoming May.

As non-profit organizations, all of our proceeds go towards benefiting the teams and helping them reach their goal. We appreciate all of your support and would love for you to share our success with us. Please help us represent Canada and build the next generation of engineers!

Our goal is 15 000 CAD by the end of April 2022.

Sincerely,
Western Mechatronics, NEO Robotics, 210X Robotics
