Help Yvonne, Windrush Descendent Keep her home

Donation protected
A year ago, you all kindly helped raise a fantastic £1200 to help stop Windrush Descendent Yvonne Williams from being taken to court for Council Tax debt.

Yvonne is still fighting for her right to stay in the UK. Unfortunately, we lost the Judicial Review challenging the Home Office's refusal of her case under the Windrush Scheme. She is now applying for the right to stay based on over 20 years in the UK and extensive family connections. She cannot work, cannot claim any benefits, and relies on her daughter, struggling to survive as a single mum in a low-paid job.

She again faces a council tax bill that she cannot pay, which her daughter cannot pay, and she is in danger of being taken to court and losing her home.

We hope to raise £2000 this time around so she can secure her accommodation for the next few months as she makes her Leave to Remain application.

This governments 'apologies' to the Windrush Generation are worth nothing. Their compensation scheme is slow-moving, hard to access shambles and descendants like Yvonne are still struggling to win their right to stay as they are excluded from the Windrush Scheme. At the same time, the government continues to ramp up their racist hostile environment ploughing ahead with the most draconian, racist immigration legislation in UK history (The Nationality and Borders Bill).

You can read more about Yvonne's story and the fight to #WidenWindrush on her previous gofundme page and on Movement for Justice's Widen Windrush Campaign page

Please donate what you can; let's help keep Yvonne in her home of over a decade for a few months more!
