Yvette Thompson is a dedicated CNA and shower aid at our long term care facility, and she has become an important part of our team. Recently, Yvette was working hard to rehome her family—herself, her three children, and her two dogs—into a larger, safer place. She found what seemed like the perfect rental, paid the woman in charge in cash, and moved in. Just two days later, the real property manager arrived to do repairs and broke the devastating news: the person Yvette had paid was a con-artist, and the entire situation was a scam. Despite reaching out for help, Yvette has received minimal assistance from law enforcement in recovering any of her lost funds. Now, she is left without resources and, with no recourse, is homeless with her children and pets, all while still coming to work and caring for others every day.
Our team is heartbroken for Yvette. She has always shown up for our patients and for us, bringing positivity and dedication to her work. We call our facility 'the land of misfit toys' because we are a close-knit, team-oriented group that tries to make our workplace feel like home for everyone—patients and staff alike. Yvette has truly become family to us, and we want to do everything we can to help her through this incredibly difficult time.
We are raising funds to help Yvette secure a new home for her family. The money will go directly toward first and last months' rent and any supplies needed to get them settled and safe. If you are able to help, whether by donating or sharing this fundraiser, we are deeply grateful. Your support will make a real difference for Yvette and her children as they work to rebuild and find stability again.
