Hi, my name is Maram, I’m 19 years old from Gaza.

The war has taken everything from us even our chance to live a normal life. I live with my sister Yusra (20 years old) and the rest of our family — eight of us in total — trying to survive and rebuild from nothing.

I finished my last year of high school online during the war, while bombs were falling around us. It was not easy — I have celiac disease, which means I can’t eat anything with wheat or gluten. During the war, finding safe food for me was almost impossible. Still, I didn’t give up, because I believe education is the only way to rebuild

our lives.

Now, we are not just trying to rebuild our education — we are trying to rebuild an entire life

We dream of building a life again for our whole family — a safe home, a chance to study, and a future where we can stand on our own feet.

My sister Yusra also finished high school before the war, but she couldn’t start university. We both dream of going to university and building a better future — not only for ourselves but for our family and for Gaza.
