My name is Sara, and I’m asking for help during one of the hardest moments my family has ever faced. On October 26, 2025, my husband, Yomi, was detained by ICE due to a lapsed visa. After exhausting every legal option available to us, we were forced to make an unimaginable decision: Yomi will accept deportation so that we can begin the long journey toward reuniting our family.
Our plan is to reunite in Nigeria and, from there, move together to Europe to rebuild our lives. While this path offers hope, it also comes with overwhelming financial and emotional challenges.
Yomi was the sole provider for our family and a deeply valued member of our community. Since his detention, I have been raising our three young children on my own—without income, without stability, and with constant uncertainty about what tomorrow will bring. Every day is a balancing act between caring for my children and trying to hold onto hope.
The funds raised through this campaign will help cover Yomi’s travel expenses, secure temporary housing, support our relocation, and help him continue his education as he starts school in Europe. Most importantly, your support will help provide food, shelter, and stability for our children as we work to rebuild our family from the ground up.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported my previous campaign, “A New Mom, a Newborn, and a Family Torn Apart by ICE.” Your generosity carried us through an incredibly fragile time and reminded us that we are not alone. Now, as we prepare to start over once again—first in Nigeria, then in Europe—we are humbly asking for your continued support.
Every donation, every share, and every kind word helps bring our family closer to stability and reunion. Your generosity is more than financial support—it is hope. Hope for our children. Hope for a future where our family can finally live together again. Thank you for standing with us during this painful journey and for helping us believe in brighter days ahead.
