Pregnant widow desperately needs your help

My name is Phoebe Ke, I forever lost my loved one on November 20th, 2021, a fire at a Chinese restaurant in St. Catherines’ claimed my husband’s young life.

We are immigrants from mainland China and dream of gaining a better life here in Canada, but who could have imagined that things would turn out this way.

I was absolutely devastated when I heard the news. My husband is only 32 years old; he had a tough childhood. His father died in his 40s, but since we got married, he worked really hard. Though we’ve lived in a rented basement for years, life was always hopeful, and we were supposed to have a long and happy life together.

Now there’s only my mother-in-law, my four-year-old son, and me with five months pregnant, relying on each other.

My husband didn’t even know we were going to have a baby girl, and my poor baby, she lost her father forever before she was born, who can tell me how I'm going to deal with all of this.

Our four-year old son, he is too young to understand what happened, he kept asking me when will daddy be coming home, I looked at his face, filled with guilt that I cannot give him a complete family.

My husband was the only bread owner in our family, with his sudden death, we have no source of income at all. I don’t know how I’m going to take care of my mother-in-law, how to raise my toddler son and unborn daughter.

With help from friends and neighbors, I’m setting up this page to raise some funds. I know that nothing can bring back my husband's life. I have to live a good life, take care of my parents and children to live up to him.
