I am once again reaching out with a heart full of gratitude and hope to fundraise for my sister Benita and her brave 5-year-old son, Xavion, in Nepal. Xavion has been battling Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) stage 4 since birth, and we are determined to help him win this fight for his life. If you need additional information do reach out to me.
When Xavion was 2 years old, in March 2022, we held a fundraiser seeking $10,000 for surgery of undescended testicles and Nephrostomy Surgery to remove kidney pus. Thanks to the generosity of doctors and supporters, we only needed $5,000 and were able to close the fundraiser after gathering $4,700. [Previous Link].
New 9/29/2025: Xavion successfully underwent a kidney transplant on September 11th, with his father Albert as the donor, and both are steadily recovering. While we are relieved and grateful for this milestone, Xavion still requires frequent hospital visits, costly medications, and must remain in India until November, creating ongoing financial challenges. As of September 28, 2025, 61% of the fundraising goal has been met, and your continued generosity will help ensure Xavion’s healthy future, thank you for sharing in their journey and joy.
New 8/11/2025: We have successfully completed all the necessary documentation and medical tests for Xavion’s kidney transplantation. The Indian government committee has also approved the surgery, and we are now in the process of securing a surgery date and making the required deposit for the procedure. As of August 11, 2025, we have managed to gather $ 13,870 USD. We are still short of the full amount needed to ensure Xavion receives this life-saving treatment. I am making a heartfelt appeal for your support in this final stretch. Every contribution, big or small, will bring us closer to our goal and give Xavion the best chance to overcome kidney disease.
New 7/7/2025: Xavi underwent surgery two-week ago on 14th June, during which the medical team performed a cystoscopy, examination under anesthesia (EUA), and a perineal urethrostomy. As a result of the procedure, Xavi will now pass urine through a newly created opening (stoma) in the perineal region. The existing vesicostomy will remain in place temporarily and is scheduled to be closed during his upcoming kidney transplant, which is currently planned for the July.
New 4/28/2025: My sister, her husband, and baby, Xavion, are currently in India. Xavion will begin dialysis, followed by a Mitrofanoff procedure. Xavion will need to remain on dialysis for three months until he is strong enough for a kidney transplant.
New 3/29/2025: By God’s grace and through your generosity, we have raised $8,762 toward our $25,000 goal as of March 28, 2025 (10:00 AM ET), and Benita and her husband have taken out a $3,000 loan in Nepal. Despite limited resources, we are moving forward in faith and have arranged for Benita and Xavio to travel to India on April 14 2025.
New: 3/1/2025: We wanted to share an update on Xavion's health. Unfortunately, his condition has worsened, and the doctors have decided to postpone the duplicate urethra and vesicostomy closure surgery. They have advised us to focus on finding a solution for a kidney transplant. My sister Benita, her husband Albert, and Albert's father are planning to travel to India to see if they can be a match for kidney donation. The estimated cost for this procedure is approximately $25,000, so we are updating the goal. At this moment, we are unsure of how to raise such a large amount quickly.
2/21/2025: Now, the doctor is planning another crucial surgery for Xavion by the end of March 2025 to address a duplicate urethra and Vesicostomy closure, which will cost around $6,500, plus additional expenses for travel to Delhi, India. If this surgery is successful, we will need to proceed with dialysis and/or kidney transplantation. However, we do not yet know the precise medical expenses for the transplantation.
Your kindness and support mean the world to us. Let's come together once more to help Xavion on his journey to a healthier future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
