Help baby Xavion to fight Chronic Kidney Disease
Donation protected
I am fundraising for my sister Benita and her 2-year-old son, Xavion, in Nepal. Since birth, Xavion has been suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) stage 4. So let's help him together to win this fight for his life.
My nephew was diagnosed with hydronephrosis (swelling kidneys) when he was five months in the womb, and the baby was born prematurely. In addition, he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) stage 4, prune belly, duplicate urethral (a very rare condition where there is an extra urethra), and an undescended testicle.
Doctors performed Suprapubic catheterization (a hollow flexible tube to drain urine) on the 2nd day of his birth and Vesicostomy (a small opening in the lower abdomen to allow urine to drain out) when he was two months.
The doctor is now planning surgery by the end of March 2022 for a duplicate urethra and undescended testicle, which takes 5000 USD and does not include medications. If this surgery becomes successful, we proceed ahead with kidney transplantation. However, we do not know precise medical expenses yet for kidney transplantation.
My nephew has spent his time in hospital more than in the home due to frequent UTI and kidney infections. We took loans and support from family and friends for treatments until now, but it has been difficult due to the ongoing treatment.
