Help WW2 veteran return to 80th Battle of the Bulge Ceremony
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
My name is Randy Buelens, caregiver for Buck, and I am reaching out to ask for your help in honoring a true American hero, Chester P. "Buck" Sloan, and his wife Shirley by supporting their return to the site of one of the most significant events in modern history.
Buck, now 100 years old, is a World War II veteran who bravely fought and was severely wounded during the Battle of the Bulge on December 17th, 1944 near Rocherath-Krinkelt. His sacrifice, along with so many others, helped turn the tide of the war in Europe. The 80th Anniversary of this pivotal battle is fast approaching, and we have the incredible opportunity to bring Buck back to the very place where he made those sacrifices, to honor him and the countless others who fought for freedom.
Our goal is to raise €6,000 to cover the travel, accommodation, and special arrangements necessary to allow Buck and his wife to attend the anniversary celebrations. This journey is not only about revisiting a place of immense historical importance but also giving Buck the chance to honor his fallen comrades and reflect on a life forever shaped by those moments.
By contributing, you will help give Buck and his wife the chance to return to Europe one last time, to stand in the very place where his courage was tested and where he left a piece of himself.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly towards making this trip possible. Let's come together and show our gratitude for Buck’s service and sacrifice.
Thank you for your generosity, and for helping us honor a true hero.
With gratitude,
Randy Buelens
