My uncle was diagnosed with a disorder called Guillain Barre syndrome about 2 years ago, which is a type of autoimmune disorder that attacks your peripherial nervous system. It is a very rare disease, as 1 in 100,00 people are diagnosed.  It left him paralyzed from the neck down in a matter of a few days. He has since regained the ability to walk in the last year, with the aid of a walker. As you can imaine, this disease has taken a huge emotional toll on him as well, adjusting to sudden paralysis and relying on others for basic tasks, he has unfortunately relied on alcohol to cope, driving him to the point of addiction. He has 4 children who live with him in Pennsylvania.  My oldest cousin, who is  23, has taken responsiblity of raising his younger siblings, 15, 12, and 7.  Their mom has been battling drug addiction for the last  4 years, deeming her to a state unfit to suitably help with the situation. Their home sustained a very large  fire about a year ago, which burned about half of their property.  Thankfully the area that burned was mostly storage and a store-front, but the the roof of the main living area has been burned severely.  Water has started leaking through the roof, causing the walls and floors to start disseminating.  The situation is very bad, and we need to repair the roof before it gets even worse.  I do contracting and carpentry work in Colorado, and will be going back to Pennsylvania at the beginnning of April for a few weeks to help repair the roof, kitchen floor, and some other issues. Right now, we have about 6 of our friends and family  who have committed helping with labor, but we desperatley need help with the cost of roofing materials. My cousins are the kindest, gentlest, and most understanding kids despite growing up in a gruelingly hard situation, and it breaks my heart.  My goal is to repair the roof,  fix the house up a bit, and instill a sense of peace, comfort and security back into their lives.  I am asking our friends, family, and gentle hearts of the world to lend whatever they can to help us with the cost of roofing materials.  Any and all help is graciously appreciated to the utmost extent.  Your consideration and efforts are blessings.
