Help with legal fees for guardianship

Hello all,
I’m sure you all know that I don’t post often, but I am posting today as both Nick my husband and I are needing some help. Most of you may not know but Nick and I were fortunate enough to have my nephew Tristian entrusted with us full time at the first of the year. He had come to Idaho to live my brother his dad starting a year ago this month. My brother tried as hard as he could to give Tristian the attention he so desperately needed, but unfortunately due to the economy and a house full of children, my brother felt it was in Tristian’s best interest to find outside help. Thankfully we were the first people he called as he knew how much we loved and cared for Tristian and would love to welcome him into our home and give him the one on one care he needed due to past circumstances.
Here is where we need help, I was able to get him into preschool and was able to get him accepted into a school of choice for grade school but I am now finding it necessary to have legal guardianship for both educational and medical needs. Thankfully I was able to find an amazing attorney through my work but his retainer with my discount is $4500 and that would be used to cover any costs that may arise. He did inform me that if the process goes smoothly some of the retainer may be refunded and I could then return some of the money that was unused. Those who know me know that this is a big ask for both Nick and I and that we don’t reach out for help lightly. Even sharing this post is help enough. Thank you all for support and love it is all greatly appreciated.
