Help with dog treats for Gil, “the Biscuit Man”
Donation protected
Often called “The Biscuit Man”, if you don’t know his name, you’ll recognize him as the consistent, friendly, and consistently friendly face at the 103rd Street Central Park entrance handing out treats to the pups that pass by. We know him as our pal, Gil. A friend to all residents, Gil is especially loved by our furry neighbors. He grew up on this block, and he’s a solid presence in our community.
Even after knee surgeries, if it’s above freezing, you can find Gil out on “his” bench. Often accompanied by friends, his “bodyguard” (a spunky Yorkie), or chit-chatting with passers-by. Gil has been doing this for years, and all the dogs in the neighborhood rush to him, tails wagging, full speed ahead for their treat(s). It’s a sweet encounter, and the relationship between the pups and Gil is just another example of the magic that is NYC, particularly the Upper West Side.
As a small token of thanks, we’re raising money for Gil to help mitigate the costs of treats. Gil has never once asked for money, but with inflation and the loss of his second income, he needs help. Your contribution (no matter the size) will go a long way! If you’re unable to donate, we’d be grateful for a share on social media or circulating this fundraiser to your family and friends.
Thank you so much for your attention, your donation, and for taking the time to read about our friend, Gil. Stay safe!
