Help With a Sudden Eviction

Hello, my name is Jordan,

I have two beautiful children, Morgan, boy 3yrs and Delilah, girl 10yrs. We're looking for some help due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We've been living in our current house for approximately 5 years sharing the property with our landlord. He lives in the basement and we inhabit the two top floors.
Over the five years we have encountered many issues with the home (roof and water damage, bath tub leaking, massive holes appearing from the water damage and of course mold) we brought our concerns up many times, to the landlord with little to nothing being done to repair anything.
We did a basic mold test that came back positive. We brought this to his attention and were more firm with the fact our kids are getting sick, living in mold and it needed to be dealt with or we would be going to the tenant board. He said he needed to think about it and would get back to us. Two weeks later he served us an eviction notice of 30 days. He said he couldn't afford to fix the house and he's decided to sell and move in with family and that we need to find a suitable living space by September 1st.
I immediately ran to the tenant board seeking help and was told we don't live in a legal duplex and that there's nothing they can do for me. In the basement he doesn't have a kitchen or two exits. So this isnt a proper dwelling for two seperate units. Which makes us roommates in the eyes of the board. So he can kick us out when ever he wants.
Unfortunately this isn't the first hardship my family and I have had to go through. Like so so so many people covid knocked us right out. One of us lost our jobs and we had our son during the process. Being on maternity leave, Justin found a steady job, He worked there for just over a year before they served him a termination letter "without cause"! This left us stranded again right before Christmas of 2023. With one income again.
It was hard to find another job for him that lined up with mine and the kids daycare hours etc. Luckily he has found a secure job now and we're slowly getting back on our feet just to find out the landlord wants to sell and we need to move in a short amount of time. I was the only income for a very long time and we unfortunately relied on our savings to get us through.

Looking for houses to rent now is an entirely different market then I've ever seen. Things are VERY expensive now and people are competing for units, bidding 100s more a month to rent a place. The things landlords are asking for is crazy. Bank account numbers, 3-6 months worth of bank statements. Some asking for deposits just to apply! $30 per credit check per person per application!
We've applied to around 8 different places and have been denied for all of them. September 1st is coming so much faster then we can imagine and I don't have a place for my family to go. Let alone first and last months rent to actually get us there.

This all leads me to ask for help. I feel like I have no options but to ask for external help. May that be financially, to help us move or maybe you know someone renting their house? We will take any help we can get. We're just a nice family having a really hard time getting on our feet.
I appreciate your time, reading our story. I thank anyone who can help and just know it's going to a good cause, keeping a roof over my kids heads!

Thanks again
Sincerely,
Jordan and Family.
