A Mothers Love Initiative is doing our BIGGEST Outreach Initiative ASK ever. We are looking to buy a lifetime “Safe Space” to work with mothers, daughters and families as a whole, in the North Minneapolis community. We are working to create a “New Reflection” for mothers/fathers and their families through Outreach, mentoring, education, employment and a Tutor House for mothers and children.
Today is our GoFundMe kick off for our Outreach/Tutors house.
A Mothers Love Initiative has been working to create a new Reflection for African
American Mothers and children in the community, for the past 6 years, and have added a Father/son piece. With the rise in Violence With Guns in the Black community we decided to stand in the gap and work from a house in the most impacted area, and with the families most affected by education, employment, homelessness and violence.
We are currently working from a house in the North Minneapolis 5th ward. That house has sold so we need to move. We are seeking a PERMANENT house to work from.
We started our 8-week classes with a few of the mothers affected by violence with guns. We have also set up our Tutor House Program for kids 1st-3rd grade, creating lifelong learners for mothers and their children.
We are serving mothers whose youth are at-risk and in need of other alternatives to violence, through our Outreach/Tutor House Program, Employment Assistance, GED tutoring, outreach services, Housing assistance referrals, ongoing case management services, and parenting/child development.
We stand behind our belief:
“You save the Mother, you save the Child
You save the Father, you save the Family
You save the Family, you save the Community”
Our GOAL is to raise $200,000 to purchase a permanent space to continue our work in the
community that we ALL grew up in. We need stability. We will continue with our Boots On The Ground work in the community, because we believe in walking in the footsteps of those we serve and meeting them where they are in life…… Any financial donations are appreciated!!
