Critical Aid for Windham County Kids with Autism - Act Now

Hello Friends,
My name is Adriana Negron, and I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to support an initiative that is very close to my heart. As a mother of a beautiful 4-year-old boy named Mateo, who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the age of 2, I have experienced firsthand the unique challenges and triumphs that come with raising a child on the spectrum.

Mateo is an incredible child – bright, energetic, and full of life. Every day, he teaches me about resilience, love, and the beauty of seeing the world through a different lens. However, our journey has not been without its difficulties. Navigating the complex landscape of autism services, finding appropriate educational resources, and managing the daily stress has often felt overwhelming and isolating.
Determined to turn our challenges into opportunities for growth and community support, I founded SYNC (Supporting Young Neurodiverse Children and Caregivers). For over a year, SYNC has been working with various local organizations to create a program that supports young families with children on the autism spectrum in Windham County, Vermont. Our mission is to build a network of resources and support that empowers families to thrive.

The SYNC Collaborative consists of the following organizations:
- Winston Prouty Center for Child & Family Development: Provides inclusive education and family support, promoting the success of children and families through its Early Learning Center and Community Based Services.
- Early Education Services (EES): Part of the Windham Southeast Supervisory Union, offering Head Start & Early Head Start classrooms, home visiting, including playgroups, parenting classes, housing support, information referral and Parent Child Center programs.
- Early Childhood Special Education of WSESU (ECSE): Provides early childhood special education to children aged three to five with developmental delays and disabilities, ensuring inclusive preschool education.
- United Way of Windham County (UWWC): Acts as a community convener, fiscal partner, and resource hub, empowering local, community-driven projects and programs.
- Vital Partnerships (VP): A social enterprise focused on health equity, bridging gaps among marginalized communities, government agencies, and organizations to foster equitable access to resources and services.
To further our mission, we are launching an Autism Needs Assessment. This comprehensive survey will gather crucial data on the experiences and challenges faced by families like mine. The insights gained will guide our efforts to provide targeted support in areas such as financial strain, stress management, educational resources, and community resilience.
Our goal is to raise $6,500 to fund this essential project. The funds will be used to:
- Develop and Distribute the Survey: Creating a comprehensive and accessible survey to reach as many families as possible in Windham County.
- Incentivize Participation: Providing stipends to ensure diverse and representative input from at least 60% of the estimated 720 households with children ages 0-5.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on the lives of families on their autism journey in our community. By supporting this campaign, you are not only helping us gather important data but also providing much-needed support to families who are often navigating these challenges alone.
As a mother, I know how vital it is to feel supported and understood. Your donation will help us create a more informed, compassionate, and resilient community where families like mine can find the resources and encouragement they need to thrive.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for considering a donation to our cause. Your generosity will make a world of difference for families on their autism journey.
With love and gratitude,
Adriana Negron
