Hey, I’m Q.
I’m reaching out quietly because I’m in a hard spot. I’m facing eviction and need to raise $11,000 to stay housed. Over the past month, I lost two-thirds of my income. I currently work at a middle school, and while I’m doing everything I can, it’s not enough to cover rent and basic needs right now.
Film production, one of my main sources of income, hasn’t been available to me lately. I’ve been actively applying for full-time work, but nothing has come through yet.
This hardship isn’t new—it’s been building. In 2023, I was scammed by a roommate who left me covering three months of rent alone. I’ve been fighting to stay stable ever since.
I’ve spent the past few years showing up for my community—through Flatbush Mixtape, the Tool Library, community food distributions, and as a member of Gotham Rugby. Since 2023, I’ve also been working to open Flatbush Ladle, a worker-owned kitchen rooted in food justice and mutual aid. We’re finally about to launch—and I’m now at risk of being evicted just before that happens.
I’m using this fundraiser to demonstrate good faith in court and hopefully come to an agreement that keeps me housed. If you’re able to contribute or share this privately, it would mean a great deal.
Every bit helps—$5, $20, $100. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for being part of the kind of care I try to help build.
