Help Will Recover After His Stroke

Please Help Will Recover After His Stroke ❤️

On October 7, 2025, my husband Will suffered a stroke that changed our lives in an instant. He was rushed to the hospital, taken into emergency surgery, and had a stent placed in his brain to restore blood flow. He spent several days in the ICU and has been fighting every single day since.

Will is now entering the next stage of recovery — acute rehabilitation, an intensive inpatient program that provides daily physical, occupational, and speech therapy to help patients regain strength and independence after serious medical events like a stroke.

Doctors are recommending four full weeks of acute rehab to give him the best possible chance at a full recovery. Unfortunately, insurance may not cover everything, and the out-of-pocket costs are significant. Additionally, we need to buy some equipment to ensure he is able to live at home comfortably. Every donation will go directly toward ensuring Will can complete all four weeks of this critical treatment, and that he has everything he needs for when he gets home.

Right now, Will has limited movement on his left side, but his determination and humor haven’t gone anywhere. He’s a hardworking, neurodivergent king — smart as hell, sarcastic, and still cracking jokes with the nurses. Even through the hardest moments, he’s kept his spirit, personality, and drive to recover.

Before his stroke, Will was a student at UCLA, working toward his Paralegal Certificate, and was set to graduate in December. Although he now has to take a leave of absence to focus on recovery, his long-term goal is to finish his certification and work at a law firm as a full-time paralegal, and eventually attend law school.

His biggest motivation right now? Getting back to jiu jitsu and earning his brown belt — something he’s worked toward for over 8 years.

We’re endlessly grateful for every message, prayer, and bit of support we’ve received so far. If you’re able to donate or share, it would mean the world to us. Thank you for helping Will fight his way back — one step, one stretch, and one belt closer to recovery.
