Join Me in the Fight Against Multiple Sclerosis – Together, Let’s Keep Moving Forward!
My name is Will Boersma, and I am a writer, teacher, talker, and most importantly, a walker. I'm reaching out to you with a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. I am asking for your help in sponsoring me in buying four tickets— that's $300 per ticket— to this year's "Dinner of Champions" charity dinner put on by the National MS Society on September 12th.
Thirteen years ago, I received a life-altering diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Since then, I've faced numerous challenges, but through it all, I've remained determined to stay positive and keep moving forward. Since the day of my own diagnosis, I've learned that Multiple Sclerosis affects approximately 2.8 million people worldwide, and every day, more individuals discover they share this journey with me.
Living with this illness can be tough, but my commitment to maintaining a positive outlook remains unwavering. In fact, for the last two summers, I have made it a personal mission to walk 1,000,000 steps (500 miles) in the course of 50 days. I do this to try to bring an optimistic face to Multiple Sclerosis so that those who are not as familiar with the disease, do not feel they have to give up all hope if— God forbid— in the future, their lives are affected by it in any way. If you want to check out what progress I have been making on "My Quest to a Million Steps" this summer, check out my Instagram page @WalkingwithWill2025! to see my progress posted every day.
I have created this GOFUNDME page because I believe that together, we can make a significant impact. I am hoping to attend The National MS Society's "Dinner of Champions" to contribute to the ongoing research aimed at finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis and spreading my message of hope and determination.
I am reaching out to ask for your support in helping me reach this new target. I, myself, have already taken the first step by donating $20. I encourage you to match this, but I will also not stop you from surpassing it. Your generous contribution will not only help me achieve my fundraising goal but will also bring us all one step closer to a world free of Multiple Sclerosis.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering supporting me in this year's event. So, let's make a difference by bringing hope to those affected by Multiple Sclerosis, and together, KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
With gratitude,
Will Boersma
