Help Wendy Zell Jones Walk Again with a Prosthetic
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Shyann Midkiff. I am organizing this fundraiser but am not the recipient. The recipient of all donations is the wonderful woman Wendy Zell Jones, my nana. My nana is the strongest person I know. 6 years ago my nana was diagnosed with Avascular necrosis, a bone eating disorder. It started in her talus and spread to her tibia in her leg. My nana has been through 8 surgeries at an attempt to return to having a healthy leg. Through the troubles and surgeries my nana's husband, Duane Jones ; has a career as a truck driver and does his best to be at the side of my nana when he can while also working to be able to afford all of the hospital bills on top of the cost of living as it is. My nana has spent her life lifting up others and has been the shoulder for people to lean on and open ear for people to vent to. She’s not afraid of complimenting people the second she notices something she likes or just if she feels someone needed to hear something good that day. My nana grew up a lively woman, singing karaoke, painting, a huge animal lover, and seeing the beauty in all the natural things that surround her. Following my nana's 8 surgeries her doctor gave her the option of either amputation or continuing the surgeries which had small likelihood of success at that point. My nana went with the option that she felt like would give her the best chance at going back to a normal life. About 2 months ago my nana followed through with getting her right leg amputated. She has worked hard through the process and is on a healthy road to recovery. There is one bump in the road, a really big bump. Due to my nana's husband (my pop-pop) having to stay home to help my nana who lives a far distance from family, he cannot work as often as needed to stay afloat and afford my nana’s prosthetic leg. Our goal is $3,000 but anything helps honestly. If you can’t donate that is perfectly fine we just ask you please share my nana’s story with your family and friends.
Thank you, Wendy’s family.
