Help Wendy & Dan After Fire Destroys Barn
Donation protected
Late in the night on January 10th, my mom Wendy and her husband Dan experienced a terrible fire in their barn. Items stored from their home such as personal belongings, blankets, off season clothing, tools, dry and canned food storage, supplies and food for the 30+ rescue cats they care for and feed and supplies for their chicken flock were lost. For many years my mom has rescued stray cats, nursing them to health, feeding and sheltering them, getting them spayed and neutered and finding them homes when possible. Almost a dozen cats that were crated and soon to be spayed/neutered had to be pulled from the burning barn. The barn was also a sanctuary to many of the cats that she cares for that have not yet found their forever homes. We do not believe any cats lost their lives, but the crated cats that had to be rescued have been experiencing some respiratory stress from the smoke. The barn is only a few feet from their home and propane tanks, and firemen from 3 different volunteer agencies were there into the early morning to ensure the fire didn't spread to the house. They're facing costly repairs, lost so many of their belongings and food, and lost the animal's food, supplies and shelter also. Any help is greatly appreciated, and please share their story if you would!
