Walter has experienced ongoing houselessness and health challenges since early 2020. Despite facing many problems, he continues to be a social and cheerful friend to everyone he meets. Over the past several years, Walter has worked hard to become stable in Kansas City, but the harsh winters have forced him to relocate somewhere warmer every eight months and start back at square one when he returns.
The good news is that Walter is now in the final approval stages for receiving housing of his own. While he waits for HUD to approve his application, Walter’s immediate needs include replacing his stolen phone, attending medical checkups, and housing support while he replaces his forms of ID to finalize his application. He also needs help with temporary housing, food, and transportation to medical and therapy appointments. This includes his favorite things like Dr. Pepper and Belfonte chocolate milk, of course. These essentials will help Walter stay safe, healthy, and hopeful during this critical time.
We are reaching out to friends and neighbors to help us keep Walter on his feet. Your support, whether big or small, will make a real difference in his journey toward stability and a place to call home. Thank you for being part of Walter’s story and helping him take this important step forward.
