We are reaching out on behalf of a beloved family in our community who are facing an unimaginable hardship.

The father — a kind, humble, and devoted man — has always been the full-time caregiver for his son Wael, who lives with Pompe disease, a rare and progressive condition that causes severe muscle weakness.

Recently, he was taken into custody by ICE. His sudden absence has left the family heartbroken and struggling both emotionally and financially.

Wael requires constant care, and the family now must find in-home assistance and additional support — all while dealing with rent, bills, and medical expenses. To make things more difficult, there is no clear timeline for when this situation will be resolved, which has created even more stress and uncertainty.
