Help Support Wade Colledge and His Family During His Cancer Fight
We are fundraising for our dear friend Wade, who is currently in Brisbane receiving urgent cancer treatment.
Since October 2025, Wade has been unable to work, and as the main provider for his family, the financial pressure has been overwhelming. Wade’s world is his partner Kait and their two beautiful boys, Slade and Will. Anyone who knows Wade knows how deeply he loves his family and how hard he works to provide for them.
Wade has spent many years in the civil industry and is one of the most genuine, hardworking and selfless people you could meet. He is the type of person who would drop everything to help someone else, yet would never ask for help himself.
Unfortunately, Wade’s journey to diagnosis and treatment has been long, painful, and devastating.
In October 2025, Wade first visited his GP complaining of abdominal pain and heavy bleeding. Despite a strong family history of bowel cancer, he was advised he was too young for bowel cancer and that it was more likely gallstones or a stomach ulcer. Tests were taken, and antibiotics were prescribed for a stomach infection, however his symptoms continued to worsen.
By November, Wade’s pain had escalated to the point where he could no longer work. After multiple hospital visits and emergency presentations, a colonoscopy was finally performed on 28 November, revealing a 15cm cancerous tumour. He was rushed for emergency scans and referred to Rockhampton Base Hospital Cancer Care.
In December, Wade endured repeated emergency hospital visits for pain management while waiting for specialist reviews and scan results. A PET scan was completed just before Christmas, but results were delayed over the holiday period.
On 2 January 2026, Wade was advised during an emergency hospital visit that his cancer had spread to his liver and lymph nodes, significantly worsening his prognosis and altering his treatment pathway.
In the weeks that followed, Wade’s condition deteriorated rapidly. He endured extreme pain, long emergency department stays, and mounting complications. On 15 January, after spending 17 hours in Emergency waiting for a bed, scans revealed an almost complete bowel blockage, placing him at serious risk of full obstruction and bowel perforation.
By 19 January, Wade had deteriorated dramatically, with doctors suspecting a bowel perforation and serious infection. At one stage, the family was told Wade may only have days to live, and hospice care was discussed.
Following urgent escalation and advocacy by his family, Wade was transferred for higher-level specialist care and is now in Brisbane, where oncology and surgical teams are determining the safest and most effective treatment plan moving forward.
Throughout all of this, Wade has shown unimaginable strength, courage, and determination, continuing to fight for Kait and their boys.
This fundraiser is to help relieve the enormous financial burden placed on their family. With Wade unable to work, and Kait needing to remain by his side in Brisbane, costs including travel, accommodation, medical expenses, loss of income, and daily living costs have quickly become overwhelming.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help take some of the pressure off this beautiful family so Wade can focus on fighting this disease and spending precious time with those he loves most.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to them.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support
