Since the war started, more than 3 million Ukrainian children, women, and older adults have fled the country. Loss and sorrow know no language barriers, while bureaucracies do.
At some point, displaced Ukrainians have to face the officials, visit a doctor, attend a job interview and go about their life in a foreign country.
Not every refugee has language fluency.
Yet, every refugee has the right to smoothen their hardships.
Here is where LINGVO Hotline comes at hand.
It is a toll-free line where every refugee gets translation help.
LINGVO Volunteers is a distributed group of volunteer interpreters who translate for Ukrainians. We gather and process all requests in our Telegram chat that brought together more than 1200 participants: https://bit.ly/lingvolunteers
We translate household and legal documents and interpret conversations over the phone/loudspeaker in various milieus (hospitals, job centers, embassies, etc.).
Voluntarily and for free, each of us gives our attention and time to civilians in need.
Operators of the hotline are volunteers, too.
To ensure that calls cost nothing to refugees, we sustain the line with our own resources.
All the funds raised will be used towards financing the hotline and making it available worldwide.
By supporting our cause, you ensure that refugees receive the help they need.
Thank you for standing by our side.
