A few days ago, our friends' lives changed in an instant.
Volodymyr suffered a serious head injury after a fall on a subway platform and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed a large brain hemorrhage, brain swelling, and a concussion. He spent several days in the intensive care unit, and thankfully, he has now been discharged and is recovering at home.
While this is a huge relief, the recovery process is uncertain. Right now, no one can say when Volodymyr will be able to return to work. He requires close supervision, which means his wife, Oksana, must stay home to care for him and cannot work full time.
They are a family originally from Ukraine who have been living in the United States for several years search of safety and stability.
They are raising two young children and, like many families, rely on regular income to cover everyday expenses - rent, food, utilities, and basic needs.
Unfortunately, they do not have medical insurance, so hospital bills and ongoing medical care are an added and overwhelming burden.
This fundraiser is meant to help them get through this incredibly difficult period — to cover essential living expenses and medical costs while they focus on healing and caring for their family.
Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this page, means more than words can express. Thank you for helping Volodymyr, Oksana, and their family during a time when they need it most.
