Recently, our family in Mexico experienced devastating flooding that destroyed their homes and belongings. They lost everything.
One of the hardest losses is my aunt’s home, which holds deep meaning for all of us. It was once my grandmother’s house, and after she passed, my aunt rebuilt the inside with love and care. Every Thanksgiving, our entire family—including cousins and their families—would gather there to share dinner, memories, and laughter. It has always been the heart of our family gatherings.
What makes this even harder is knowing how much my aunt and uncle have always put others before themselves.
My aunt works at Academia Juárez school, where she is so much more than a secretary. She supports teachers, helps families, and is a role model for students. The kids at school absolutely love her, and she means so much to the community. She has given so much of herself to others, and now she is the one in need.
My uncle, now in his 80s, is heartbroken. He has spent his entire life serving others and giving to the community with so much love. But now, he is devastated after losing the home he spent a lifetime building and filling with memories. His house, his vehicle, and everything he worked so hard for were not just things—they were his life’s work, his pride, and his comfort. To see it all washed away has been crushing for him.
Now, after a lifetime of giving, they are the ones who need help.
We are raising funds to help rebuild and restore their home—as well as the other family homes—so they can have a safe place to live again. More than just walls and a roof, this is about restoring a place that holds family traditions and memories.
No donation is too small. Every bit will go directly toward rebuilding, replacing essentials, and helping our family find stability again.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
Sincereley,
Lizza Soza
