January 18th, 2022 shattered our family with news that no parent should ever hear. Zack, my brother, and his wife Amanda’s son was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. What turned out to be a simple outpatient procedure to remove what everyone said was likely a “benign” cyst has turned into a nightmare for them. Both my brother and sister-in-law are hardworking parents in the Volusia County School system (teacher and Lead Guardian) and parents to three fantastic boys. At this time we are hoping and praying for a cancer free outcome, but we want to make sure financial issues are covered to alleviate some of the burden. Virgil has a long road ahead where he will undergo multiple scans, chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and surgeries. The money donated to this GoFundMe will be used to assist with medical bills, general bills, and any other situations that may arise during Virgil’s treatment and healing time.
