My name is Michael Polard, and I'm raising funds to help my friend Violet out of an unfortunate situation. Her family has been through troubling times that have put her in a rough place. Violet's mother had her leg amputated due to septic shock brought on by neglect from her husband, Violet's stepfather. This caused Violet's epileptic brother to end up in state custody, and left her with no support.

Across last year, she spent time living on multiple people's couches. After eight months, the NJ DCPP placed her mother and brother in a hotel room, and she moved in with them for a time. But recently, her family was given a permanent housing voucher that she is ineligible for. She has spent multiple weeks dealing with housing instability, having to sleep on trains and the streets. I believe Violet needs an environment to grow and that is why I'm starting a GoFundMe to help give her shelter so she can get back on her feet.
