We’re reaching out with open hearts to ask for your support during the most difficult chapter our family has ever faced.

My beloved parents-in-law, Vince and Anna, have always been the full of love, laughter, and unwavering support. But life has taken a painful turn.

Vince’s Journey with Alzheimer’s

At just 65 years old, Vince, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. This heartbreaking condition has gradually begun to take away his memories and independence. The man who once supported everyone else now needs daily care, structure, and community to help him stay engaged and maintain his dignity.

Thankfully, the Friend’s Landing Adult Day Program in Milton has been a beacon of hope. It offers a safe, supportive space where Vince can participate in meaningful activities, connect with others, and enjoy moments of joy. From music therapy to crafts and games, the program helps slow the progression of Alzheimer’s and gives him a renewed sense of purpose.

But the program comes at a high cost, and unfortunately, it’s not covered by government funding. As the expenses grow, it’s becoming more and more difficult for our family to afford this essential care.

️Anna’s Battle with Cancer

While we’re navigating Vince’s diagnosis, Anna, is fighting a battle of her own — a recurrence of small cell lung cancer. After initially undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, her cancer has returned. She is now in treatment again, receiving a combination of immunotherapy and chemotherapy, and also exploring alternative and integrative therapies that may offer her a better quality of life.

These treatments bring hope — but many of them aren’t covered by OHIP, and the financial burden has become overwhelming.

Despite everything, Anna continues to care for Vince with strength, compassion, and love. She is the heart of our home, and we want to do everything we can to support her through this journey.

Covering the monthly costs for Vince to attend the Adult Day Program.

Mes beaux-parents bien-aimés, Vince et Anna, ayant toujours été travaillants et aimsnts, vivent des périodes difficiles. La vie a pris un tournant douloureux pour eux.

Le parcours de Vince avec la maladie d’Alzheimer

À seulement 65 ans, Vince a reçu un diagnostic de la maladie d’Alzheimer. Cette maladie déchirante lui enlève peu à peu ses souvenirs et son autonomie. L’homme qui a toujours soutenu les autres a maintenant besoin d’un accompagnement quotidien, d’un cadre structuré et d’un environnement communautaire pour rester engagé et conserver sa dignité.

Heureusement, le programme pour adultes « Friend’s Landing » à Milton est devenu un véritable rayon d’espoir. Il offre un espace sûr et bienveillant où Vince peut participer à des activités enrichissantes, tisser des liens avec d’autres personnes et vivre des moments de joie. Grâce à la musicothérapie, aux activités manuelles, aux jeux et à bien d'autres, ce programme aide à ralentir la progression de la maladie et lui redonne un sentiment de but.

Cependant, ce programme a un coût élevé et, malheureusement, il n’est pas couvert par les aides gouvernementales. Avec des dépenses en constante augmentation, il devient de plus en plus difficile pour notre famille d’assumer ces frais essentiels.

Le combat d’Anna contre le cancer

Pendant que nous faisons face au diagnostic de Vince, Anna mène son propre combat — une récidive du cancer du poumon à petites cellules. Après avoir suivi une première série de chimiothérapie et de radiothérapie, le cancer est revenu. Elle suit actuellement un nouveau traitement combinant immunothérapie et chimiothérapie, tout en explorant des thérapies alternatives et intégratives pour améliorer sa qualité de vie.

Ces traitements nous donnent de l’espoir — mais beaucoup ne sont pas couverts par l’OHIP, et la charge financière est devenue une lourdeur.

Malgré tout, Anna continue de s’occuper de Vince avec force et amour. Nous faisons ce que nous pouvons pour l’accompagner dans cette épreuve.

Comment vous pouvez aider ❤️

Nous avons créé cette campagne GoFundMe pour alléger la pression financière qui pèse sur mes beaux-parents et accompagner Vince et Anna à recevoir les soins qu’ils méritent. Votre soutien contribuera directement à :

• Couvrir les frais mensuels pour que Vince puisse continuer à participer au programme de jour.

• Financer les traitements alternatifs pour Anna, en complément de ses soins médicaux conventionnels.

• Aider aux frais de transport et de soins à domicile afin qu’ils puissent rester ensemble, en sécurité et entourés d’amour.

Notre objectif est de récolter 14 000 $ pour aider nos parents dans cette période particulière.
