Help Village on the Green Park Remain Green

We are a group of dedicated volunteers seeking help for our beloved Village on the Green Park In Haverstraw, NY. This treasured park of over 4 acres has been in existence since the establishment of the Village on the Green Homeowner’s Association and community in 1965.

At this time we are facing a financial emergency on two fronts - one is emergency tree service $1500, needed to cut down two trees which are dying and a threat to children’s safety, and the second is insurance for the park for $1500.00. In addition, we are now lacking the funds to maintain the landscaping payments necessary to mow and trim the 4 acres of grass which costs up to $2,000 annually. We also need legal support to maintain our founders’ mission of providing a designated green space for the community. We estimate legal consultation fees to guarantee the preservation of our beloved park to be between $5,000 to $10,000.

Throughout the 60 years of its existence, VOG park has been a safe place for the community’s children and families to enjoy. The VOG Homeowner’s Association has maintained its commitment to the community spirit of the park with a continual series of events such as easter egg hunts and the infamous halloween costume contests and parades.

There are generations of families who have enjoyed the park, including the grandchildren of the initial families who moved into the community in 1965. The park also has provided great memories to friends of those families who enjoyed the special events and safe space for their children to play.

We are asking any and all of those who have enjoyed the beauty of VOG Park to help us maintain a safe and green environment for everyone to continue to enjoy. Please help with any size donation towards our goal of $15,000.
