My name is Jennifer M-Bonzie. I’m the founder of Vigilo, a nonprofit organization on a mission to advocate for people who are physically challenged by providing mobility, creating awareness, education, and resources for individuals in Ghana, West Africa.
I was taught how to walk and tread independently at the age of 3, to prove my abilities rather than my disabilities at the Orthopedic Training Center (OTC) in Nsawam, Ghana. As a way of paying back to the community I came from, I set up Vigilo foundation to raise funds and donate annually to OTC.
In 2021, we pioneered the Vigilo foundation and donated $10,000 worth of clothing, food items, and mobility devices to OTC. In 2022, Vigilo had a target goal of $30,000 but reached $18,500 for our annual program.
We appreciate your support, prayers, and donations.
Our mission is to help people understand that we are not limited by our disabilities and can contribute to society in many ways! Vigilo Foundation’s goal for 2023 is to raise $30,000 by the summer of 2023 in order to successfully purchase and ship donations from the US to Ghana.
By January of 2023 OTC would be opening a satellite orthopedic workshop at Walewale in the northeast region of Ghana. This would allow persons with challenges to easily access services in the area and avoid traveling long distances to Accra for medical services.
Always remember! A change in your pocket can change a life.
